I am from the UK and 40 years old.

I usually go to Thailand for 3 months,i get a tourist visa then after 60

days get a extension for 30 day.

This time i want to stay for 6 months,am i right in thinking that all i need

to do is get a double entery visa then i use the first visa as i have done

before then leave for Thailand 48 hours then come back in and its the same again for the second visa.

I sent this email to the Cardiff consular and they said it was correct,i wasn't sure if i would get a reply from them so i phoned Liverpool and they said i need a triple entry ?

I just want to get it right before i go in Janury.

A double entry will do you for just under 6 months in total, 2 x 60 days and 2 x 30 day extensions. I used to get a 2nd 30 day extension on each extension as well.

If is likely to be over 6 months, maybe triple is best.

You do not need to leave Thailand for 48 hours, you can enter another country at the border , turn around and walk straight back once you have the entry and exit stamp.

Hull and cardiff good for postal applications for visas.

Maybe consider Multi entry "o" as lasts 1 year and you get 90 days on each entry - cost £90. Triple entry is gonna cost £75 anyway or double and 2 extensions £100

If you just use the visa stay it would require 3 entry (3x60) but if you extend each time the 2 entry should work (depending on how you count the days).

When i booked my flight i just counted 24 weeks but that totals 168 and if i go to Laos for a week i'll be well inside for the double entry visa then.
