Democrat denied phone tapping involvement

By NUPPOL SUVANSOMBUT

BANGKOK, 5 March 2011 (NNT)-The Democrat Party has denied rumors over telephone-tapping accusation on Members of Parliament while warning those who do to stop or face criminal charges.

Democrat Spokesperson Dr. Buranut Samutarak has warned MPs against a device called ‘Spy Phone’ which allows users to tap the phone conversation which the Spokesperson said was for political gains.

According to Dr. Buranut, telephone tapping is considered illegal by Thai laws and is authorized only to assist police investigating crimes. Authorities have been looking into the reports of telephone tapping in several organizations involved with political figures. Tthe Democrat Party believed the allegation was aimed at discrediting the Government. The Spokesperson said it was a crime to tap phones without authorization. Criminals will be prosecuted according to the laws.

According to Thai laws it isn't allowed to drink beer and making a phone call while speeding on the wrong lane. What's considered legal?:jap:

What we have here is that it is seemingly illegal to record conversations you yourself are involved in, as you don't have permission from the opposing party. This is the opposite to some other countries -- and same as some others.
