Old Sim May Not Be Compatible On New Phones.

Featured Replies

I recently purchased a new Samsung dual SIM phone () and after a couple of weeks it started giving me problems restarting itself or just shutting itself off.

After checking battery etc etc I contacted Samsung service center and they said to return it to the dealer.

When I arrived at the Samsung store I bought it from a helpful English speaking rep told me my phone is fine and the problem is with the old GSM SIM. He said many new phones are not compatible with the older SIM cards.

So I went to AIS near by in the mall and they changed it for a new SIM and cloned my contacts too.

Phone works great again and I'm happy no warranty work was needed. Too bad they didn't mention the old SIM issue when I bought the phone.

So if anyone has similar problems with a new phone replace your old SIM (its free at AIS) before going the warranty option.

I have this Samsung model and one of my sims (a DTAC sim ) keeps disconnecting itself on occasions, especially when travelling from Pattaya to BKK,and on the return also, turning the phone off then on again re-activates the sim, tried it with other sims and been no problem,so i too will change the sim for a new one and see if that sorts it,thanks for the info.
