KARACHI, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- At least 6 more people were found dead in Karachi, Pakistan, as violence hits the city for the fifth consecutive day, bringing the total death toll to 39, local media reported.

Among the dead was a political activist who was shot on Sunday. He had been discharged from the hospital on Monday, but his body was later found abandoned at Munawar Chowrangi. A Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist who was wounded a few days ago also died on Monday after succumbing to his wounds.

Protests turned violent on Thursday following the Supreme Court's decision to dismiss Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau Justice Deedar Hussain Shah, calling the decision invalid.

Monday's fatal victims include a 25-year-old Awami National Party worker, a 20-year-old MQM activist who had been shot on Friday and died on Monday, a 65-year-old bystander who was shot near the Baghdadi police station, a young man whose body was found in Kharadar, a victim who received a fatal gunshot to the head, and another unidentified body was found with three gunshot wounds.
