Feta Cheese

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I tried using the search but no result.

I am looking for Greek Chees (Feta) to make Greek salad.

Anyone knows where I can buy it?

Kind regards,

Alex

Don't know where you are located but in Phuket it is readily available at Central, Don's cafe and possibly even Tesco Lotus. Any supermarket that sells imported food should carry it.

how about

- Villa Supermarket

Sukhumvit Road near Soi 33

Sukhumvit Soi 49

Basement of the Ploenchit Centre on Sukhumvit Road near Soi 2

J-Avenue, Thonglor, Soi 15

- Foodland (on Sukhumvit soi5)

- The Emporium

- The Market Place (Suk 24 , Thong Lor)

well if you cant find indeed... last choice ..go to Greek Resto. and buy there

Athena Greek Restaurant

Sukhumvit Soi 56 - Soi 77

594 Ekkamai Rd, Sukhumvit 63 (Petchburi Rd)

10110 Bangkok

(66-02) 392-7644

Tops Supermarket anywhere usually sells feta cheese, olives, all that kind of stuff.

In Chiang Mai I see it regularly at Rim Ping Supermarket, also at Ban Phak near the airport.

Ive never had one *with* spinach, but I love fresh spinach. Any chance you could post a recipe for your preferred version, tutsi?

sure...just fresh spinach, chopped black olives and crumbled feta. Toss well and refridgerate just a little. Add a couple twists of fresh ground pepper. Don't really need to add additional salt as the feta is salty enough...

Thank you all for your kind replies,

The next thing I want to make is the Bulgarian variant of Greek salad.

Dunno exactly how to write but it sounds like: Sjopka ore sjopska salad.

If you like Greek salad then after trying Sjopka salad there will be no turning back.

So I will ask my friend in Bulgaria how to make it and keep you informed.

Thanks all!

Hi all,

Ok just found following recipe for Shopska salad.

This salad is popular in Bulgaria and its name comes from the region of Sofia. It is made from tomatos, cucumbers, peppers, onion, and brined cheese and is consumed as an appetizer with Rakia.

Recipe

Ingredients: 3-4 tomatoes, one cucumber, 4-5 peppers, one onion, 150g brined sheep's cheese, parsley, vinegar, sunflower oil and salt. Bake and then peel the peppers. Take out the seeds and cut into small strips. Then add the diced tomatoes, cucumbers and onion. Add salt, oil and vinegar, and mix. Serve in the shape of a pyramid, top with finely chopped parsley and grated (feta) cheese, preferably Bulgarian feta cheese.

Have a good time!

Alex
