Kraft Miracle Whip?

What/Where is Paradise mass Villa?

I find it unbelievable that this thread has so my posts. regarding a product that is heart and cholesterol threatening.

I have tried Miracle Whip, but as i do not come from the US, maybe I fail to appreciate the cholesterol; and inducing fats found in american cuisine . Although I must add, that I found this to be the best of all products on the market until recently.

I have found a super alternative that is creamy, not as sweet as Miracle whip and makes a great potato salad. Maybe it it is as bad for cholesterol, and I am still researching the ingredients And long term effects. It also has a tang of deep creaminess with a mustard ingredient, without(supposedly) all the fattening and heart infections produced by other bad products of Miracle whip This includes the sweetness and sugar of Thai products, of which I do not partake.

Wonderful!! Are the name of the product and location where it can be found closely guarded state secrets?

Send me a pm. And I will provide you with details. But this is a now a limited shelf item due to BIG C taking over Carrefours and privately, I do not want to lose my supply of this delicious savory, before Big C run out of their stock of carrefours stockholding of this item.

Oh swell, now you guys are guarding the top secret location of your MW alternatives as closely as you do your favorite gym.

Today I visited Rim Ping Nim City near the airport and Tops KSK (whoa, it is now a seriously good Tops!) Neither had MW or Kraft REAL Mayonaise (which is what I was raised on). Neither of their English-speaking customer service mangement reps seemed to understand the gravity of the loss of these important Kraft products. Tomorrow I will probably hit Tops Airport Plaza and (if I'm really ambitious) get to Rim Ping Nawarat later in the week. There's only so much this song-thaew riding lady can do in the way of research.

The Tops AP has Kraft Mayonnaise in stock now, but no Miracle Whip.

Actually, I have no interest in eating Kraft MW. As for Kraft REAL Mayonaise, as I said, I was raised on the stuff, but now I don't need the calories.

I just like to know what products are carried by my favorite grocery stores. That "new" Tops at KSK is great. Did you know they have Pledge furniture polish in both lemon and orange scent AND potato mashers!! This may help with some months-old threads.

Meanwhile, I may just disclose the location of UG's favorite gym.

FYI, Rimping AP has a slot for Kraft Mayonnaise, but no bottles.....

Re: Gym - I heard they raised the monthly price recently. True?

Okay.... I've been reading these forums for well over a month now sponging up as much info as I can while preparing for my first trip to Thailand, including 2.5 weeks in CM. So I decided to sign up with the site, and my first post is here...why here??

Why is the darn Miracle Whip thread the one I continue coming back to??

Unless it's toast, I don't think any slice of bread that comes into my home is a stranger to either Miracle Whip or REAL mayonnaise. Can't imagine any BLT, turkey, ham, roast beef, tuna, or chicken salad sandwich being made with a substitute! And yes, the Kraft variety is the only way to go.

If customs would allow it, I'd just forget packing clothes altogether and load the suitcase with jars upon jars of the stuff for all of you...but I'm sincerely doubting that's a possibility. Imagine the look on the customs officer's face? Or me toting around a pack full of Miracle Whip, meeting folks on the street..."Hey, you got the stuff?"...."Yeah, you got the money?"

In any regard, it is unfortunate to hear of your Whip Woes over there. Anyone up for a MW party?

As I said, I'm not a big MW fan, but Kraft REAL Mayonaise -- now that's another story. I realized I had to declare my alliances and become a real woman (not remain a Daddy's girl) when I first went grocery shopping with Hubby, long before he realized he was going to be Hubby. We had listed a jar of mayo on the shopping list and I just grabbed a jar of Kraft REAL Mayonaise, when he pulled my hand away and lead it to the Hellman's and said "no that's the only mayo for me". That's when I realized I had to make a choice. I told my father the story on the eve of our wedding and he approved (after all, Hubby picked up my car note and student loans).

We're coming up on our 35th wedding anniversary and I expect I have to find some Hellman's mayo for the party. It's harder to find than the Kraft REAL Mayonaise.

I've got part of a jar of MW in the fridge right now (that's getting close to expiry date). I bought it at Makro last time but have seen it in Tesco, Carrefour, and Foodland. Surely one of those places will have a jar or two kicking around.

I grew up with Miracle Whip -- we weren't a mayo family, and I could never understand why people would use mayo when MW was available. Mayo just seems so bland in comparison.

We're all going to die some day. Some of us will hasten that day with booze, cigarettes, or driving motorcycles in Thailand. Some of us prefer Miracle Whip. And then there are even some of us who throw all caution to the wind, and go for all of the above. What's your poison?

Villa Market in various parts of Bangkok and in Phuket, Pattaya & Hua Hin all sell a couple of different Miracle Whip varieties - including the original product.

I guess this is what the Villa Paradise reference was earlier in this thread - Villa's latest (& biggest) store is in Paradise Park (not far from Seacon Square) and it definitely has 2 different types of Miracle Whip - I was there today! Regular & Light for those whom are curious....

Obviousely a few of the Spam haters have never been to Hawaii where it is a ritual of all locals to eat Spam and Eggs, or Spam and everything etc !

With Mayo or MW, to each thier own, or with butter, ketchup, or other assorted condements.

grew up with MW and didn't know about mayo until in my teens.

Some things go better with each one of those products.

BW, I have noticed over the years that many Kraft products have come and gone. Ranch Salad Dressing is one of them that has become hard to find, even their Italian and the thai standard of Thousand Island (Yuch).

Beets a Thai version ov chicken souphad when first here nearly 20 years ago.

Choped chicken in regualr Boiled Water with no seasonings :bah:

Ok, I'll admit I'm not the shopper in the family, but I've been dragged to the market more times than I would like (if you see a 53ish white dude slumped over a shoppingcart then that might be me). Here's my question. No Best Foods / Heilman's Mayonnaise here? My wife buys some Japanese brand and it's Ok after we got rid of the "sweetened" :bah: version she originally brought home.

Bestfood's Mayo is actually pretty good for Mayonnaise. Its also a cheap alternative to Kraft and Hellmans, etc, but it ain't no Miracle Whip.....

I think most people here who like Miracle Whip do not consider it a Mayonnaise. Its a separate product altogether. I usually have a jar of Mayo and a jar of Miracle Whip in the fridge and use them for different things.

Wow, uncleung, what a great first post! What a fine example of investigative journalism.

Perhaps now you'd like to take on the issue of whether bed bug chemical was actually used on the mattresses at the Downtown Inn and not just used on the baseboards and crevices in the room, as is common in just about every hotel room in Thailand.

Can't believe - yet totally do - how much some Americans need their MW. I'm totally from the US, but grew up in a pretty much non-mayo home, and get along fine without it. It is fun in a baloney sandwich n indispensable in tuna salad, potato salad, macaroni salad, etc., I just rarely get around to making them. As I used to cook for a living, you can cheat your own MW pretty easy by adding a pinch of sugar or honey (better as it's liquid n blends better) and dash of lemon juice or vinegar to get that bright MW tanginess. Not the same, but darn near the same and if used as a multi-ingredient nobody's really gonna know. MW is just sweet and sour mayo really.

I won't bother with telling you to do your own mayo from scratch as others already have, and I know time n convenience means it just ain't gonna happen in most households.

Unclueng, you are the man! (or woman!). What great news! As the OP of this thread, I can't thank you enough.

I think all of us MW lovers should have a MW Day where each of us bring our own special salads, sandwiches and whatever else you make. You non-MW fans :annoyed: are invited too so that you can discover what a real treat it is or, as one poster put it, use it to clean their guns with.

Somebody pick a date and venue as i don't know CM very well. It'll have to be when we are 100% certain that it's back on the shelves so late May should work or early June. Maybe a MW booth at the July 4th party?! And a firework that explodes overhead raining down the beautiful and delicious MW. Maybe I'm getting carried away, but I like the MW food party idea.

That glorious day is getting ever nearer. At Rimping Mee Choke today I saw a section of Kraft Mayo, so Kraft products are definitely coming back. The clerk at Kasem Grocery said he expected Miracle Whip on or about the 23rd of this month...10 days from today!!!! It won't be long now. (That's what the monkey said when he put his tail in the lawn mower.)

  • 2 weeks later...

Was in Carefore yesterday...nothing.

BTW, in Carefore, the "salad dressing", "mayonnaise" or whatever you want to call it is not on the same shelf, or even the same isle, as is the mustard, other salad dressings, etc. It's kept over near where the sugar bin is. Very bizarre.

ALERT! ALERT!

Saw the fabled Kraft Miracle Whip TODAY at the newly-remodeled Tops grocery store in the basement of Kad Suan Kaew mall. It is in the same section as the salad dressing.

The 15 oz plastic jar was 99 baht.
