OK, the Songkran dates this year are the 13th to the 15th. The 13th is a Wednesday. So masses of people will be leaving Bangkok jamming up the roads starting when?

SATURDAY April 9 perhaps?

Or earlier/later?

Those who take the monday and tues off will start jamming the roads on the preceding fri /sat thankfully. Because of this outbound should be fairly spread out-the return though will be a different story I suspect.

So you're saying Friday probably won't be jammed then?

I think the most jam would happen on 10th and 18th April. IMO

We found out yesterday that buses going south from CR direction have limited seating and return (BKK - CR) nil for the next few weeks. That was only SOmbat but indicates to me that the exodus ahs started!

Therefore the traffic madness follows
