OK, the Songkran dates this year are the 13th to the 15th. The 13th is a Wednesday. So masses of people will be leaving Bangkok jamming up the roads starting when?

SATURDAY April 9 perhaps?

Those who take the monday and tues off will start jamming the roads on the preceding fri /sat thankfully. Because of this outbound should be fairly spread out-the return though will be a different story I suspect.

So you're saying Friday probably won't be jammed then?

Well it will busier than normal if a lot of people take mon / tues off

JT, leave the traffic jam problems to your Baht Bus driver, and just enjoy the ride. :D

Songkran is the best week to be in Bangkok. Traffic is great, even better then during New Years.

We found out yesterday that buses going south from CR direction have limited seating and return (BKK - CR) nil for the next few weeks. That was only SOmbat but indicates to me that the exodus ahs started!

Therefore the traffic madness follows
