Cervical Ostoarthritus

Featured Replies

For the last few months I have had this stiff neck when turning my head you can feel it crunching, also over the last few months I am getting many silent migraines(no headache, just blurred eyesight) have read on the internet and says it could be this cervical ostoarthritus, going to hospital today to have it checked out, anyone experience the same problems?

Yes; most likely cervical osteoarthritis. Important to have an X-ray to eliminate the possibility of a disc lesion at one isolated level which may need intervention. Most people will have a degree of osteoarthrosis from age 35 onwards but can be worse in some people depending on sports activities (rugby players are the worst) and previous neck injuries such as whiplash etc.

Just back from Bangkok Phuket hospital, X rays showed degeneration in the neck(spine) Dr says nothing serious as yet but obviously in later yrs maybe have a problem, so got tablets and some sachet drinks which will hopefully help. neck exercise should help so nothing serious and you can deal with that.
