Driving To Phuket From Samui

Featured Replies

Has any driven this route last few days is it clear of flood water?

I normally drive down the 44 south of surat ..cheers

i came back on sunday and a bit of flooding, but on the news i saw the bridge on the 44 has gone in the floods and so would have to take the old road to phuket, but im sure you will see when you go pass the turning for the 44 if its closed or not.

I would imagine it would also depend on what you are driving as well. I don't think I would go anywhere unless in a 4X4 at the moment and there is more bad weather coming :o

Stiggy,

Just heard indeed that a bridge is missing. I'm very interested how to get from Krabi to Samui!

According to Thai TV, there's currently no connection between the Andaman side and Surat Thani.

Phun Phin is heavily flooded as well, so the old road over Phuket wouldn't work neither.

Any updates on the 44 are highly appreciated.

Dont know if this helps but a friend of mine was stuck in Khanom two days ago and needed to get to Phuket. .She called the bus companies in Surat about getting to Phuket and they told her the only was to go via Ranong. She arrived here in Phuket yesterday by bus no problems.

Thanks Nick, much appreciated info!
