Sheryl
My niece, a Cambodian national, has a Cambodian driver's license. In the past I know she would have had to ap[ply for a Thai license but I've heard conflicting things recently about agreements among the ASENn countries. Does anyone know if Cambodian licenses are now valid for driving in Thailand?

Sheryl
http://www.aseansec.org/7372.htm Thanks, I've seen this (does not include Cambodia) but as it was 1985 wondering if anything newer. I don't think Cambodia was even a member of ASEAN in 1985 as thatwas during the Vietnamese occupation.
Sheryl
OK, found out on my own: 1. You cannot legally drive in Thailand on a regular cambodian drievrs license 9although not all Thai traffic police know that) 2. You can, at an extra charge, get an "ASEAN" stamp endorsement on a Cambodian license which does entitle you to drive in any ASEAN country. At least, Camboduians can. I have no dea if residents of other countries can.
