Lufthansa Special Deals

Featured Replies

Folks, at the moment Lufthansa are doing some great deals from

Bangkok to KL, Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta for only 3000B, 4000B 5000B and tax return til 30 November.

But you do have to be a member of their Miles and More frequent flyer scheme. Your Star Alliance card wont work.

Can't say I appreciate their discriminatory pricing system.

For example:

If I say that my country of residence is Thailand and go to the Thai page to book BKK-LAX-BKK business class, the fare is 148,720 baht (about $3,600)

However, if I say that my country of residence is USA and go to the US page to search for the same flight, same class, it's quoted as $8256, a difference of nearly $5,000.

And when you go to your travel agency you probably pay less than $1000.

These websites are not for booking tickets, the prices are redicilous (sp). Its only good to look for availability or flight schedules.

I often wonder why they even bother to quote prices or their site.

For a business-class ticket on the BKK-LAX route?

I think Eva Airways quotes the best intercontinental rates for better-than-economy class. I've never flown them though, but their deals are irresistible.

You are right i misread that. The Thai price seems about right. I checked with my local travelagency and a return flight with Lufthansa/Thai AMS-BKK-AMS was 2800 euro business class.

A word to the wise....

Do not ever..ever.. use them... despite the cheap tickets advertised

I have had the most unbelievable conversations with their customer service (example... "I don't care who you complain to...they will believe us not you") when they issued incorrect tickets.

Fortunately...I have an email trail

Suffice it to say....Trading Standards, having seen the evidence, are now taking a very close interest. Ohh and of course ABTA (Travel agents investigating Travel Agents...hohum...but I will follow "procedures") and a quick call to my credit card company to grab the money back. Ohhh...and IATA who they have to pass procedures quality checks with.

I rebooked with Ebookers while this mess is sorted... cos the missis will get out her rusty knife if I am not back "home" as promised...

Don't you love 'em? (Thai ladies not travel agents).....
