Watching My Ubc Feed On My Laptop

Featured Replies

Hey All,

Been hunting around the net, but Im still a bit vague as to exactly what I need to do..

Ive got a UBC cable feed into my house and I would like to run an extension from that line up to my office, so I can watch cable on my laptop.

Is it simply a case of getting a little box like receiver/decoder thang (that VGA out wires from my laptop will plug into I guess) and away I go..Or is it a little more complex than that?

Im sure some of you have hooked up your pc's / laptops to do this, so if you could spill the beans as to how you did it & what equipment ( & how much) you needed to set up, that would be much appreciated...

Cheers,

W. :o

PixelView PV-NT1004. Cable (and S-Video and RCA) inputs. Outputs video by USB and audio goes to your laptop's microphone jack. Lists for about 3500 baht at Panthip Plaza or the IT Mall at Fortune Town.

thanks MyNameIsFarang...sounds fairly straightforward then...just out of interest - is it legal to split the UBC line and to receive it on another screen as well? Thinking about it, my guess would be no...

anyhows, ta ever so...much appreciated.

You cant split it and watch seperate channels at the same time.. You can duplicate it and yet thats why the UBC box has 2 outputs on the back..

I would be surprised if it is not illegal since UBC does charge extra if you have two T.V.s in the house connected to their system feed.

Sorry for my wording, but yeah, I meant duplicated. All sounds pretty easy - off to Fortune Town tomorrow :o ...Thanks.
