Hiking Boots In Bangkok Or Phuket

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have been living in Thailand for 7 years (and therefore have no cold-weather gear of any kind) and am planning a trip to Nepal on the 25th and so far have not been able to locate any hiking boots in my size (Size 12.5 US). I am living near Phuket, but will be in Bangkok a couple days before my flight.

If anyone has a pair of hiking boots in my size that they would like to rent/lend/sell, please let me know. I will gladly return them along with some souviners of Nepal. :) Or if anyone knows somewhere in Bangkok I might be able to find large Hiking boots, please let me know. I'm getting a bit desperate. :) I've contacted our guide in Nepal who's looked all over for large boots there and has found nothing.

Reply to this thread or call/text to <snip> with any leads. Thanks much!!

google this and you will find plenty of places in Nepal selling hiking gear.

you stand a good chance of getting second hand gear there also

Be very careful with boots in Nepal. Most are knockoffs and will barely last you one trip. Last think you want is to be at 5,000M and have your sole tear off. My hiking guide says he goes through a pair of boots every trip to base camp.

Plus, you had better wear them in before starting the trek or you could be in big trouble.

If you are in Bangkok, North Face has a store in at least 1 or 2 different malls. Google it and call them.

I think this is better in either the sports forum or in the Bangkok forum. I'm going to try the sports forum first. Topic moved.

Good luck and have a blast! It's an awesome place to trek.
