Pattaya has a subdued start to Songkran Day

PATTAYA: -- According to many locals and expats this year’s Songkran festival day, celebrated as per usual on the 19th of April, was more subdued than normal in the period before midday because of rain. We know that sounds illogical, that is, wanting to stay dry on a day where enough water to reinvigorate the Gobi desert is expended by revelers, but talking to many participants that’s precisely why they stayed indoors until the weather improved.
