Visa Exemption with New Passport
I've returned to Thailand via the Koh Kong border and it was fine. There are Cambodian guys hanging around offering help for a fee. I don't suppose it's really necessary to pay for their service. Everything went smoothly. I will now get an appropriate visa so that I don't need to stay as a tourist. Basically it seems like many of these border crossings are relaxed for long-term tourists at the moment. -

Just MalcomB - of course if you want to align yourself with such bigotry - go ahead and take that leap into the well of mediocrity. Thats flawed thinking - the Poll I mentioned provided a the perfect example of the flawed mindset MalcomB operatates in - he seems to think that because >50% of people admitted to DUI its ok - its not. Its shows the logical fallacy he operates under. Correct - When you and MalcomB tarnish a whole nationality based on an extreme minority your bias should be brought into question... Apologies for being able to formulate a sentence... Is that really your objection, that I know how to write ??? Finally - I have not disagreed, nor am I in disagreement that there are a number of British Idiots who travel and cause problems... BUT, I am in disagreement with your biased generalisations and home-made statistics and a clear display of negative-bias that prevents you from viewing the matter with balance, for, if a healthy balance existed we would not see the same posters selectively focusing against Brits in the threads in which a Brit has drawn negative attention. I would argue the same against bigots who draw similar opinions against Australians or other nationalities in threads where negative bias has been displayed against them (when seriously stated and not in jest). -

Now starting: Chiang Mai Expats Dining Group
Yes, do keep on trying and maybe think about a dinner get-together, which might be more suitable for some people?? A group of us here in Phuket had a dinner get-together every Tuesday at a selected Italian restaurant, and it was called IFAWAS (Italian food and wine appreciation society) and I contacted the restaurants we were aiming to dine in and asked if we could bring our own wine and they were okay with that, which was good because part of the evening was meant to be about discussing the pros and cons of the wine we had brought along. There were around 6 to 8 people who attended on a regular basis, sometimes more when friends were in town, and new guests were always welcomed provided they were invited by existing diners. This went on for quite a few years before it fizzled out due to one thing or another, but at the time it was enjoyable. -
