Guitar.....Where?

Hello,

I am a layman looking to buy an acoustic to start with. My budget is not really above 5000 THB, though the cheaper for the beginning, the better.

Just 2 questions

1. Which guitar do you recommend to start to learn with?

2. Where to buy it?

P.S. is 2nd hand/used guitar a good choice for a beginner?

Thank you.

I don't know where in Thailand you should buy a Guitar, and what Makes are available,I bring mine from the States.Sorry.

This is a good website where I buy all of my equipment in the US,it can give you a good Idea of what is available, and the price ranges. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/acoustic-guitars

Epiphone, Fender, Ibanez , Yamaha, make some good starting guitars.

I will give you this advise, I have seen many people start to learn, only to give up because they did not buy the right equipment.

I Personally have not payed for close to a year and my fingers are soft, when I picked up a friends cheap guitar, I had problem closing the Chords.

IMHO If you buy a cheap guitar, you will either give up, in which case , better invest your money on something else, Or, you will quickly have to replace the cheap guitar with one with better action. So maybe spend a little more an buy a better guitar, also buy soft stings,I know they brake easy, but will be easier on your fingers.

Some of the purists dont like TABs. I personalty think it is a good way to learn a few tunes and get excited about the prospects,so here is a good TAB website.

There are many others, do a google search

Also many lessons on you tube

Good Luck

PS here is explanation on TABs
