hello members,a friend of my will married but is 49 years old.is it possible to stay in thailand on married extension before he is 50?if yes what are the finacial rules in that casethank in advancejohnyb

Yes, if married to a Thai nationa that is. Financial requirements: 400,000 in the bank in Thailand for 2 monhs OR an income of 40,000 a month.

He could get a multiple entry non-O and leave the country every 90 days till he turns 50 and than apply for an extension of stay based on retirement.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.
