Found This Snake In Our Bed...What Is It?

Featured Replies

Last week we discovered this snake in our bed, and today our dog sniffed out another, which was the same underneath our sofa...any ideas what they are, and are the dangerous?

Todays was exactly the same, however on the top half of the body close to the head there was bits of metalic blue color, but only on half of its body. How can we keep them out of our house? we have 2 small dogs but these snakes do not seem deterred by them blink.gif

its a totally harmless, Painted Bronzeback (Dendrelaphis pictus)

the blue spots around the neck show up when its body expands when inhaling & when threatened.. But it won't harm you at all, its completely safe to pick up this snake in hand & move it somewhere outdoors..

here's one..

Beautiful, but I can't ever see myself loving them.

Thanks for that .... just got a little freaked out that the first one was in my bed...thanks again

Thai hubby says is called a "Rat Snake" in his village and is safe for kids to play with (?!?! I am not asking any more down that road of conversation..).

He says they love to chase rats, kill rats and eat rats, so might pay to check the house for rats as they could be following rats inside.
