German employer want to send employee to Thailand to do some research.

Can any consulate offer an apropriate non-immigrant visa?

As far as i know they need:

  • the employer to request the visa for the employee need to go to thailand
  • a letter that the employer will back up the employee financially
  • a copy of the registration of the company here in germany
  • of course the right form and pictures of the employee
  • copy of passport

Is it possible to get a one year non-immigrant visa (i know the employee has to cross the border every 90 days.

Any input appreciated.

I think based on that many Thai consulates in Germany will issue a multiple non-B. Just contact one of the consulates. Frankfurt always seems very nicely.

You have to realize that only a person working for a Thai company can get a work permit. Working without a work permit would be illegal.

However, it seems that it is allowed to conduct contract negotiations and such, provided the business is done between Thailand and another country and not bewteen companies within Thailand itself.
