.None of the above post require Fasting. Fasting is required for testing Cholesterol and Sugar -for Diabetes. Generally, they prefer to take your blood sample early in the morning, asking that you consume no food or liquids, apart from water ,after midnight. Not sure what, if any ,other blood tests require fasting. I should add , Diabetes is a very serious problem in Thailand. Along with Tuberculosis. Our little local Amphur hospital has some hundreds of Diabetics, with about another 200 suffering from T.B.They run special clinics for both, it is such a serious problem

For a health check for a work permit, if you have a little time to spend go to a government hopsital. Very cheap. A private hospital will safe you waiting time, but cost more.

The health check itself is normally over in the time you need to read this post.

Every health check I've had for a work permit took no longer than 90 seconds, usually at a local medical centre. They looked at my hands (not sure why), quick check of the heart and on one occasion I had blood pressure checked and it was high due to a hangover. Pass.

Phyathai is a chain of 3 different hospitals with the same name in BKK, Phyathai I, II, and III...

I'd say they are mid-level hospitals among the privates....at least in terms of pricing... and all of them accustomed to dealing with farang patients.

If an employer is dictating that you go there, which of the three do they want you to go?

If an employer just wants a medical certificate, as mentioned above, it's cheaper and quicker to just go to a local neighborhood clinic...

No food or drink the night before is a standard advisory for some blood tests and also for urinalysis.

It's not the employer who needs it, it's the Ministry, as it is part of the process to apply for the Work Permit. Have done that many of times. It's a mere formality, the doc asks you "are you feeling good" and if you say "yes", it will cost you 30 Baht or so, never mind what you ate or drunk the night before. Of course, Payathai will charge you about 10 times of that.

Phyathai II is right at the Sanam Pao BTS station on the Sukhumvit line (about two blocks down from the station on Phanon Yothin Rd)...

Probably the easiest to get to, depending on where you're coming from...

They also have an international guest relations unit there...
