Piboonbumpen Demonstration School Is Situated Inside Burapha University Campus

Featured Replies

I am considering an interview offer at Piboonbumpen Demonstration School is situated inside Burapha University Campus located in Bangsaen, Chonburi, about 100 km from Bangkok. I have never heard of this school and I dont know anything about this area (i.e. where to live, proximity to Bangkok(really Bagna), how to get there etc.

Can anyone weigh in on the following:

  • Opinions on working at the school(good, bad or indifferent). Is it odd that they have a 6 month probation period instead of the typically 3 months? I dont want to move there and then have no job.
  • Where can you live in the area where this school is? The city name is Bangsaen
  • Can I live in Bagna, Pattaya or Jomtiem and still work at this school?
  • What is the best way to get there from Bangkok? If I get dropped off at some obscure stop do I go back to that same stop to get back to Bangkok?
  • Any additional comments are welcome.

Burahpa is a large University, nice campus etc..

The high school is as you indicate, inside the campus, some students live there/dorms. Good reputation but they seem to advertise often so lose foreign teachers. Could have something to do with age discrimination but that seems common in Thailand. Living near campus no problem, a lot of options or you could live in Chonburi(the city just north). Not possible to live in Bang Na or Pattaya without serious commute. Bus from Ekami or Bang Na, just ask. Then song tow/moto to the University, close but not a walk.

It would be a great place to live, no inside information on the school itself other than comments from students. May be strict as in breaks and holidays etc.. Parents pay a high amount in fees. If you like University life I think a good chance you would fit in.
