I understand immigration at bkk will be closed for a holiday on 17th, as will the bank.. Will they accept a bank letter and updated passbook on wednesday that were done on monday for a retirement extension? The alternative is to get them done at the bank wed am then go to immigration pm, which I expect will be very busy. I really need the extension on wed. If you are there pm do they see everyone waiting, or do they just make the ones not seen return the next day? Guess I would be there about 1 pm if I had to go to the bank first.

If you are using a normal Thai bank they all have branch offices on ground floor level of Chiang Watanna and you can update there. They do it all the time and Immigration requires same day proof from most so at least an ATM update is often required.

Siam city bank, not seen a branch at CW. I thought you had to go to your own branch for a letter? If so and they have a branch at CW a Monday letter and Wednesday book update would do it then?

It depends on the bank, some banks issue the letter at every branch while other banks require you to go to the branch of issue.

Kasikorn will issue the letter at every branch. ( at least that is my experience )

Most immigration offices will normally accept the bank letter when it is a few days old but the bank book has to be updated normally on day of extension application but again this up to the immigration officer.
