In my current passport I've a double entry Tourist Visa, and about 3 x 15 day border runs which were all extended for 60 days based on visiting wife.

We're a little tired of going to immigration every 75 days so think I'll go for a single 90 day Non-O based on visiting wife from either Laos or Cambo.

This will be good for 90 days, then can extend it for 60 days at immigration.

I'm not interested in going to KL with 100k thb in the bank for a 12 month multi-entry. Or going through the 12 month extension at immigration either. Or a Tourist Visa. I'll be happy with the 90 day + 60 day extension.

Presumably I need:

Passport

photos,

Wife's ID card and Tabien Bahn.

Rental contract for the wife's address.

With copies of all.

Is that it or is anything else needed?

And is the cost 1,900thb for a single Non-Imm O?

And finally, having been to Laos a number of times I'd rather go to Cambodia and spend two days in PP this time. Anyone know how friendly the PP Embassy is for handing out single Non-Imm O visas based on visiting your wife?

The marriage certificate will be required and the price will be what the Consulates sets as 2,000 baht in that country. Cambodia wait is normally 3 days I believe.

Call PP immigration, they are helpful and speak reasonable English but could get the wife to call them...google them for phone number.........try and do a cheap dialling code as I know when I called it cost a lot

Thanks, I sent them an email re. docs, cost and processing time, but they're obviously closed for the gov holiday. Will see if I get one back during the week.

Surprisingly enough I got one back.

Dear Mr. Hehehoho,

The documents required are different for each case but for a spouse of a Thai national we generally require a copy of the marriage certificate. Please note, however, that this need not be a Thai marriage certificate -- a certificate issued by foreign authorities will suffice provided that there is a certified English translation of it. The application fee for a single entry non-immigrant 'O' visa is currently $65 and it typically takes 3 working days to process the application.

Regards, Consular Section Royal Thai Embassy, Phnom Penh

So 3 days for processing.

Any one know if this is the case in Vientiane as well, or is it usually only 2 days when done in Laos??
