Afternoon all

I am currently on a non-immigrant o visa with multiple entries. I've only used it once to enter the country and now must do my first "visa run"! My current visa stamp expires on the 3rd June.. I've left it a bit late as I'm just recovering from some nasty tonsillitis. Some questions which I'd greatly appreciate some help with:

1. I've never done this before but spoken with people before who say they went took a bus from Bangkok to Cambodia, got their stamp and took a bus back however these were tourist visas.. does it make any difference or do you think Cambodia is the best place for me?

2. Where do I need to take the bus/minivan from in Bangkok?

3. I see these "visa run" companies, I think for about 1,000 baht, are they worth looking at as this is my first time?

4. Is it pretty straightforward as to what I have to do once I arrive at the border?

5. Is it possible to travel there and back all in one day?

Best regards

You already have a visa so all you need to do is to cross the border and come back. Yes, you can do this all in the same day.

You can take a bus, a plane or just use one of the many visa-run companies.

Good luck!

Thanks Thailand4life, I guess I'll just take a minivan to Cambodia then.. I think I've seen them at victory monument? Don't suppose you know if they generally drop you off at the border and will wait for you to return?

My only other query is what the process is like to get the visa, is it fairly obvious what I need to do? I keep hearing about there being visa companies at the border trying to trick you saying you need to go with them. Does anyone know exactly what the building I need to enter looks like? And do I just tell them I need a visa extension?

Many thanks

I would use one of the visa run companies for a first trip - the total cost is about 2,000 baht and includes the visa for Cambodia (you need) and travel/lunch and use less crowded crossings.
