A recent topic on this forum has attracted 6000+ views and 220 posts in 9 days. By far the most interesting(?) apparently for many of us in recent times but due to an inability to follow the Board rules this thread has now been closed, before reaching a satisfactory conclusion I might add. Well done to those of you who can't remain civil or on topic and who have brought about it's premature closure. I think that maybe what this forum needs is terminators as well as moderators to terminate persistent offenders!

It is a simple question of demographics.

Some people aren't civil or polite and they cause a lot of work to mods.

Topics causing too much work get closed, and people aren't in general very good at learning manners on a forum.

So...

We have the choice between closing threads and excluding a portion of people form discussions.

Of course, there is also the question why debaters cannot just handle the rudeness of some posters, freedom of speech and so...

Discussion of moderation is against forum rules.

Adhere or you're likely to be given a little holiday.

Hmmm so basically this thread manages to talk about moderation issues (which is against the rules) whilst admonishing other members not to break the rules?

As usual when topics on moderation pop up someone has to take a shot at a moderator. A post flaming a moderator has been removed and this topic is closed.
