Over 200 Afghan militants attack Pakistani security post, 8 killed

DIR, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- At least 8 people were killed after a large group of militants attacked a Pakistani police post early Wednesday morning in the western region of the county, local media reported.

Over 200 Afghan militants launched the attack against the police post in the town of Shaltalo, located in the Upper Dir District in Pakistan's province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when the group tried to enter Pakistan, the Nation reported.

The skirmish lasted several hours, and Pakistani security forces deployed a gunship helicopter, which fired against the militants.

Among the 8 fatal victims were 7 Pakistani security personnel and a passerby woman who was caught by the firing.

In the same district, two schools were later destroyed and a bridge was blown up, but it is still uncertain whether the same group of militants were behind the incidents.

How do they know they were Afghani? Usually, the Taliban associated fighters are of Pakistani origin. The myth of Afghanistan now is that the fighters are Afghans. It is becoming more and more evident that the ongoing troubles are the result of Pakistan's attempt to annex parts of Afghanistan.
