Does anyone know of a store that sells electric chainsaws in Phuket

Home Pro have petrol engine ones but i want the electric type as they are safer for people

with no experience to operate when lopping trees

Electric chainsaws cut the same as gas powered and then ya got that cord following you around. Here is a photo of my dear old dad about 1955. He is not for hire...not sure why the photo upload failed Edited by bunta71

I have to agree with your second sentence. I was thinking the same thing. I've never owned an electric chain saw, only gas. The electric ones seem more dangerous to me. Less power and that dam_n power cord that you can cut... For loping I usually use loping shears and a very sharp tree pruning hand saw.

Thanks for the advice, i had 4 petrol and 1 electric chainsaws before i left Australia,

I wanted a electric one because they are safer to use when climbing in trees for a

inexperienced person as i am to old to do the climbing myself,

I could not find a electric one so i ended up buying a petrol one

I think they restrict the sales of chainsaws here because of the amount of illegal logging going on

The one i bought has a 11 inch cutting bar, no good for logging but ideal and very quick

for cutting trunks and limbs up to 15 inches thick

Thanks for the picture Bunta. Those guys always amaze me.

Hired some people to remove a very large gum tree from my property years ago.

One guy stayed on the ground and lowered the pieces down as his mate, who was obviously part gibbon, swarmed all over the tree with his large (gas) chainsaw hanging from one arm. He didn't bother with ladders or safety ropes as it would have slowed him down.

Reduced the tree to a stump in a very short time.

Perfect! I love those little gas saws. And I think I had heard some chain saws were illegal...
