Internet Options In Rural Suphan Buri

Featured Replies

Dear ThaiVisa friends,

I'm about to send my Thai stepson one of those all-in-one touchscreen computers so that he can do school work and keep in touch with Mom via Skype. He lives a little bit outside Samchuk, Suphanburi.

I asked my sister-in-law to check on internet options and she was told by TOT that they don't have DSL where she lives. She has a phone line though and cable tv, so I wondered if there might be another option.

Can someone who is living in the area comment about my possible internet options to get the family hooked up?

Thanks,

Sket

Hi Skettios, what cable TV do they have ???,, we have the CAT Cable TV and they have just within the last couple months introduced Internet via the cable line,, 600+ baht month for the internet, can get a 7 day free trail which we did,, excellent speed and no problems with skype, if you pay 6 months in advance they throw in a free router, Prior to that I had used the AIS sim with a dongle for internet access, internet for browsing was ok but skype was virtually a no go, DTAC was a bit better but still not so good for the skype, could talk but no video, unsure but at this stage CAT Internet may not yet be available in the surrounding areas, but its worth giving them a call to check it out,, I saw on another post someone using CAT CDMA with a router/ ariel set up that they seemed happy with, you can no doubt find info about that on a search in the forum,,
