Place To Buy A Laptop

Featured Replies

Where is the best place to fondle and perhaps purchase a laptop in Bangkok (no sniggering at the back).....?

I understand that things have moved on a bit from ye olde Pantip Plaza . . .

All advice, tips and opinions welcome!

JIB has several (5?) shops in Pantip Plaza. The one on 2d floor on left side (orientation re entering via front doors) is all laptops; I counted 42 of them about 2 weeks ago. All operating and amenable to fondling. JIB prices are generally very competitive and policies seem above average for Thai shops.

Not sure what this means. Pantip is still the best in Thailand for choice under one roof. That said, I didn't like anything there and ordered off Amazon via Fedex.

It may be true that Pantip is the best place - especially if you're looking for something that isn't "mainstream". However, I detest the place. Just getting there in the first place is a pain in the arse. The traffic sucks, the parking sucks, and th Porno DVD sellers are relentless. Much prefer Fortune Center. The MRT is right in front, there is ample parking if you drive, and there is everything you need there. I haven't been back to Pantip for years.

The last time I lived in Bangkok Pantip Plaza was pretty much the only IT place, bar that place at the top of Ploenchit Centre or whatever that went bankrupt.
