I think Memoirs of a Geisha would be worth the ticket. I hope, Hollywood screws up everything that shouldn't be screwed up. Like the Geishas being played by Hillary Duff and Jesscia Simpson. They will find a way to fck it up. :D

The lead is being played by Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi (House of Flying Daggers), who is really hot - and a great actress - but doesn't look Japanese. Other fine Chinese actresses in it are Gong Li and Michelle Yeoh, but it isn't going to seem very realistic to anyone who's been to Japan. At least there's Ken Watanabe from The Last Samurai.

I saw a brief clip on cable last week and it looked a bit Hollywood. Spielberg is producing but director Rob Marshall is only well-known for Chicago. Prior to that he was a choreographer. :D

What, they couldn't find any Japanese actresses, or they just couldn't find Japan? :D

Hollywood always pisses me off. A country full of people who belong to the culture being portraied and they can't use one Japanese woman? Is it because no one in America knows a Japanese actress?

Didnt you know all Asians are same same? :o

It looks nice and I really hope it turns out well, but she just doesn't look Japanese. It's hard to get around that, at the moment. Maybe that will change when I see the film, she is a good actress after all.

Potential oscar winner, Klown vs. Clown... I won´t tell you the ending TBB, You are a f®iend and I don´t want to hurt you.

Flightplan was better than I expected, but Jodie Foster looks uncannily like Michael Jackson in the first part. Something about the eyes and mouth...

For every end there is a begining. :o

Jealous anger let not control you. Much fear I sense in you...

And what does fear have to do with anything, ask I hear you?

"Everything! Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you."

You underestimate the power of the Dark Side.

Oscar Watch has this year's leading contenders. I really want to see "Good Night, and Good Luck", "A History of Violence", "Pride and Prejudice", "March of the Penguins", "Murderball" and "The Constant Gardener".

I've seen "Cinderalla Man" and "Crash".

Paul Giamatti should get a best supporting nod for "Cinderalla Man"? I think Ben Kingsley should get nominated (best supprting) for his role in Oliver Twist (currently playing in Bangkok).

Joaquin Phoenix is getting a lot of positive buzz for his portrayal of Johnny Cash in "Walk the Line".

A bit off topic - sorry, but I saw a good movie on HBO last night - The Sean of the dead - it is great for a laugh, if you like British moviies.

That's "Shaun of the Dead" and it is funny, have the DVD.

Personally, I never rated Shaun of the Dead.

What I did think was very good is Hotel Rwanda, really good performances and something that needs to be remembered. Not that it will make any difference to the spineless S.O.Bs in government.

A little off topic coz not a movie, but if you liked Shaun of the Dead to to get hold of or download the tv series spaced, made and written by the same guy. Great series. :D

BTW, watched 'The Descent' last night, it was crap. :o

Wallace & Grommit, curse of the were-rabbit probably won't get an oscar but it tickled my funny bone with winning lines like "Get your mob implements here!" and overall symbolisation :o
