Hello, dear Thaivisa members!

We are happy to recommend you to try Thai Food Flashcards Iphone applications. It's a set of virtual cards of the most popular Thai foods, each card designed specially to help you to order a dish in a local restaurant, where staff don't speak in English and you - in Thai.

You will get 31 useful flashcards with a variety of Thai meals, including every Thai dish one must try, all loved by locals who eat them everyday.

Each flashcard contains:

✔ photo of a dish

✔ Thai name (show it to the waiter when you order)

✔ English transcription of the name (try to pronounce it to the waiter)

✔ English name

✔ Short description.

✔ Pictorials of possible dish components (click on them and demonstrate to the waiter)

The application offers not only flashcards of noodles, rice, soups, salads, main dishes, but there are two national Thai drinks - coffee and Thai tea and three additional cards that allow you to give additional information for your order: "Please don't add chili," "Please cook vegetarian food," "No MSG, please."

App price is $1.99

AussieWomble, yep, we want to add several tens of dishes. If you have some other names of dishes in mind - pls, post a list here.

P. S. Unfortunately, it's impossible to add review if you get app with promocode :(

Just a note. As of today, 7/14/2011, all the promo codes listed have evidently been redeemed. I tried the two that were not mentioned as having been used and was told that they had been redeemed.

Just a heads up.

Haven't seen them, but doing cards for ตะเกียบ, ช้อน, แก้ว etc might be useful. I often use these words when eating out.
