CHIANG MAI TO PREVENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR BIRD FLU INFECTION

CHIANG MAI (เชียงใหม่) Governor,Mr. SUWAT TANTIPAT (สุวัฒน์ ตันติพัฒน์ ) has instructed all the related departments to closely monitor on the avian flu viruses in order to prevent the outbreak of such virus which could have impact on local economy and tourism.

Mr. SUWAT (สุวัฒน์ ), CHIANG MAI (เชียงใหม่) Governor said that the temperature in the region has dropped down which is easy for the virus to spread together with the province have been by bird flu virus before, therefore, it is possible for the outbreak re-appear.

He added that the virus has been detected in many provinces. So related departments in CHIANG MAI (เชียงใหม่) Province have been assigned to strictly keep up with the bird flu surveillance to prevent the epidemic of the virus since it could have impact on local tourism.

Mr. SUWAT(สุวัฒน์ ) said CHIANG MAI (เชียงใหม่) Bird Flu Operation Center is closely monitoring on the virus and have not yet found that the province is hit by the avian influenza, however, if found, the operation center is ready to control the spread of bird flu which will improve confidence among locals and tourists.
