HansBlinkers
Are the Viagra pills that come from Mae Sai Safe or do they work? Can you get the real ones over the counter in your local pharmacy? If so, how much are the real ones?
Mickeem
Do NOT buy from the Burmese hustlers in Tackelik (fakes) just go to the pharmacies either in the LOCAL market or in town in Tackelik apparently they have effective Indian (best quality) or Chinese generic at most pharmacies under the counter - I was advised by someone who knows about these things... 180B - 250B for
Maejo Man
Two types are available in Chinagmai. The genuine Pfizer imports at 1800 baht a pack or a local generic for around 1300 baht . The ones you buy over the border are extremely dangerous, and should not be taken.

Who knows who made them or what they are made of.

mccw
I bought some porn DVDs and Viagra from a street seller with the basket n cigs walking around (over the border by mea sai). When I got back to change Mai I found the DVDs were blank but the pills worked a bit too well, so after 1 try I gave the rest away and hense can't comment on any long term health effects. I was expecting the rests to b the other way around; DVDs should of been much easier to reproduce. Strange.

The established stores across the border have a reputation to maintain so they usually sell useable bootleg DVD's, though of varying quality. The cigarette vendors have no reputation to maintain and will sell cleverly packaged crap for however much they can get for it. If you need drugs go to a reputable pharmacy. It was just a spur of the moment thing. 300bht for a strip of pills and 4 DVDs. The pills worked and the DVDs didn't. I normally buy all my disks from the same store every time for best price / quality (can take back if dont work etv) and I don't need drugs, so I was just reporting on a random experience really rather than looking for advice but cheers anyway. ThaiPauly
I got stung on the ciggies when I asked a friend to get me some while he was there a few years ago He bought from a street vendor instead of the proper duty free shop. My fault, I should have told him. What I ended up with was beutifully copied packs and ciggies that were filled with Lord only knows what, certainly unusable Never buy ANYTHING from the street vendors there. If you buy from the duty free shop just on the other side of the border crossing (right hand) all their wine is genuine and very good value for money with a decent bottle bottle being 99 baht. They also sell genuine spirits, you can get a bottle of gin for 100 baht , but its not that good, but the brand names are also cheap, a few years ago me and some freinds brought some High Commssioner scotch, very good, 850 baht for 5 litres, of course thats way more than you are allowed to bring in and we were stopped by customs, but we argued we had only got one bottle each, and on that particular day we got away with it, on another day we probably would not ,plus they are stricter than they were at customs these days, but at the price it was worth taking the risk at 170 baht a litre:)
Ta22
maybe i am too young to talk about this topic , but don't risk your life with cheap weird drug selling by someone who care less if you die . get it from a DOCTOR . yeh yeh yeh i know is not cheap . but problem solving is never cheap . there is also the herbal way . which is cheaper then the blue pill .. you can get the blue pill almost any where in chiangmai , in amny of the NIGHT DRUG store . just go in and talk to the seller .. the more responsible one would ask you a few question and be frank so he can give you the right dose , those who care less would just sell it to you and maybe you die later in your cheap hotel . from a hard on . so .. Maesai = NO > Drug Store = at your own risk . Doctor = YES Thai have this Black ginger herbal thing check it out also .

I found i was approached to buy Viagra how much i would ask 2 /3 thou...... No i will pay 1000 baht for ten packs of four same as you can buy in Ranong, I woulds say.to them. the Deal was done in the high restuaraunt over looking Myama , the drug name, Kamagra[ made in india i think]. the pills are bark blue and have an indentation, so one can break in half . Now half is good enough to do the job. and less risky, Never use the whole thing. So you have enough for 80 times and they keep. Viagra is illegal in thailand ?but you can buy a liquid enhancer in a packet ,from mosr chemist 100 baht , never tried it but guys on phuket says its good I would go to Ranong though for ten packs if i was feeling the need. But in Thailand a herbal helper called VAMP apptly named and safe is available from chemist not cheap,200 baht for one but works riley

How is that similar? Viagra doesn't alter your body. At least not permanently.
NancyL
OK, guys, since several of you have commented on how it is that I think Viagra is similar to breast augmentation, I'll share my logic. Both alter your bodies in ways that are potentially dangerous. Both alter your bodies in ways that are intended to be of interest to the opposite sex. Both are utilized by people with an element of vanity in their personalities. Both can serve to deceive the other person in a relationship. Except in the case of reconstructive surgery after breast cancer, both are done for recreational purposes. Yet, whenever someone comes onto the forum asking about a good place in CM for breast augmentation surgery, they receive lectures about the evils of that procedure. I haven't seen similar postings about the potential dangers of Viagra. The matter-of-fact way that you guys treat the use of Viagra has been a real eye-opener for me. This may be the same logic used by some insurance companies in my home country that will cover prescriptions for Viagra and not birth control pills. Sparkles
Nancy you make some very good points. What hasn't been discussed is that its not just older men that pop the pills its guys in their 30's too. I know I worked with quite a few.Either shows a total lack of confidence, or self esteem, in their own abilty to physically satisfy the opposite sex.
