I'm amazed we are this close to Malaysia (the heart of Tempeh production) and I can't find anything in the stores. Anyone know where I can find it?

hmm no aneliane, who is that, where? thank you

The vegetarian foundation opposite Chatuchat Market has a whole section in their shop dedicated to fake meats and tofu products, they might have it.

Every recipe I look at requires "tempeh starter"

next question - where to get the starter?

finally ordered it from here http://www.orgathai.com/ and got it within 2 days, amazing and tastes good

finally tempeh in Thailand

this drove me crazy for months, almost as much as the Nike shorts I like to buy that they don't have here in Thailand, but the label says "Made in Thailand"

thank you angiud and Travelish for the suggestions

For the location of The Vegetarian Foundation ( also called Chamlong's Restaurant ) opposite Chatuchat Market, see my post (2nd one) in this thread

http://www.thaivisa....nts-in-bangkok/

They also have another (apparently bigger) restaurant near Bankapi ( and I ASSUME there is a health food store attached,

same as the other )

or go to the Happy Cow website

http://www.happycow....iews.php?id=331

and you may find some restaurants which, like Chamlong's, have health food stores attached.

It's possible that one of the 2 health food stores in the basement of Paradise Park (formerly the Seri Centre) near Seacon Square have tempeh.

Chamlong told me last week that Bangkapi food court was smaller than Chatuchat and closed for protest; yes they do have a healthfood shop attached in Bangkapi, but I have checked Chatuchat last sunday and they don't have tempeh, they are mainly selling chinese faux meats or thai ones.

OP: Have you tried Central Chitlom? or are you just happy ordering it online ?
