RECIFE, BRAZIL (BNO NEWS) -- A regional jet flying for Brazilian airline Noar Linhas Aereas crashed in northeastern Brazil on Wednesday morning, officials said, killing all 16 people on board.

The accident happened after the Let L-410 Turbolet aircraft took off from the main airport in Recife, one of Brazil's largest cities in the country's northeast. The plane crashed at around 6.51 a.m. local time, several minutes after take-off, in a vacant lot.
