Renting A House In Korat Near A Good Gym And Swimming Pool

I need to rent a house for 2 months or more for my parents where they would be able to go for a workout and swim everyday. Any suggestions as to which location would be good. Are there any big gyms in Korat like California Wow or Fitness First, preferably with a swimming pool in the same building?

I hear the rents are between 15-20k baht. Is that right?

There are only a couple gyms in Korat and only one near a pool. It is located in The Mall which has a big gym on the 3rd floor and the best pool (IMO) in Korat. The only place close to rent is the Crystal Place located right next to the Mall. Studios are about 7000 and one bedrooms about 15,000.

On their website if you look at the photo of the front of the building the big building in the background is the Mall which has many nice retail stores and restaurants. I lived there 6 months while my house was being built. Not that close to the college but there are metered taxis at the Mall and cost would be about 100 baht to get to the college.

Thanks Rdrokit! Crystal Place looks good, but could you suggest a location midway between The Mall and the college? If you could name an area I could probably search for a place there on the net.

Not much near the University as it is about half way between Korat and Cho Ho on highway 2. There are a few neighborhoods with houses in the area but I am not familiar with them

You might try Issan Properties as they rent houses and may have someting near the university.

Good luck

Thanks for all the help Rdrokit. I will try somewhere near St Marys hospital, thats the only landmark I see between The Mall and the University.

The problem with the area west of highway 2 to the college is that it floods during rainy season. Here is a photo taken during last rainy season (Sept & Oct.) of the parking lot of St. Mary's Hospital.

Hahaha. Take no notice of the last comment mate....yes the picture is factual but that was the worst floods in half a century and only because the flood gates in a reservoir were opened in a different province.

I live west of highway 2 and I was high and dry.

By the way there is a huge, exceedingly well equipped gym a bit further up the same road as St Mary's hospital. Also you can cut through to get to the universities without using the highway, only takes five minutes from there.

Happylarry thanks for the info. Is there a swimming pool near there as well?

Also if you know, is there a good housing complex there where I could rent a home or even a large apartment suite?

Hi Neole

When it comes to swmming pools I guess the Mall is the one to talk about.

On the same road as the universities there is the Dusit Princess Hotel which has a nice little outdoor pool but nowhere near as good as the Mall.

I'm sorry I dont know about apartments but there is always all sorts of accommodation around universities so really unless you can find somewhere like Crystal Palace then its just a matter of driving around and looking for bits of paper with a phone number, stuck onto gates or doors, which is the Thai way of advertising.

However if I notice anything when I'm out and about then I'll give you a nod.
