Twas a good race. The most impressive bike of the day was off the track. Parked near the grandstand was a red rocket that I intended to have a look at after the races, but plum forgot at the end of the day. It wasn't a Buell, Cagiva or Ducati, it was a ................bugger I forget! But it looked sexy.

Hats off to the 996 rider whoever he is. Keeping up with all those inline 4's. Impressive!

! especially since the last 996 Superbike was made in 2001! But on a tight track like Bira, its not the most power that wins, its chassis & suspension, torque out of the corners, brakes & balls. I can't even imagine riding my old 999 on Bira at race pace. Hats off indeed to the lad on the ol' 996
