junkofdavid2
Aside from taxi (which I generally avoid don't trust), what's the transpo available from clock tower to market village? Is there a song taew or bus? If so, what number? Thanks!
roly
There's usually a load of motorbike taxi guys hanging around there, should be able to get dropped off at market village for 30 baht, something like that...? if you've got bags etc and need a bus, there's a tourist information place right next to the clock tower, they seem to have all the numbers and times, at least the last time that I asked. Cheers.
stgrhe
There are both song taews and buses operating that route. The green song taews are those operating on the Kao Ta Kiap route while the buses are the tangerine coloured small odd looking buses operating between Hua Hin and Pran Buri. TimandT
Your best options would be the Songtaew from the pick up point, flag it down along the route or near Hua Hin 63 - 10 baht
bankroll
Wow, I had no idea the songtaew was so cheap - 10 baht is a bargain!! make me laugh every time I see a falang taking a tuk tuk to market village for 100 baht!
hhfarang
^ And that 10 baht is the same no matter how far you ride on their normal routes, one block or from the center of town to the south end of Takiab. They are lime green pickup trucks with with a yellow stripe down the sides, covered backs and steps with a platform at the rear for easy entry. One will pass by in either direction about every fifteen to twenty minutes. You just stand at the kerb and wave your hand when you see one coming and they will stop for you. Just hop in and when you want to get out push a button located along the roof that rings a buzzer in the cab. Then you just go to the driver and pay the 10 baht. The only problem you may run into is they are frequently full with people standing on the steps and platform at the back (hanging on).
