I can thoroughly reccomend "Noanphan" she runs the dental side of a combined husband-wife Medical-Dentist Clinic.

Uses the latest lazer equipment - not a "drill" in site -no inflated "farang" prices, all charges displayed.

Also recomended her husband "Dr Ken".knowledgeable, fluent English just like visiting my GP "back home" !

On the main road nearly opposite Khon Kean Hospital ,approx 200 m towards the city..Can double park outside.

043 327960

They also recomended an optician, also a good experience at the right price - however have lost his card !

Hi,

I am married to a Thai national and needed some dental work carried out so I contacted the Khon Kaen Faculty of Dentistry and registered with them for planned dental treatment which includes extractions, implants and plates. Have had 2 visits with 7 x-rays taken and 3 extractions, next visit for gum treatment followed by Orthidontist for reconstructive work. Costs so far have been for the x-rays and extractions total 2400 baht. Service has been great and care to a high standard. Wednesday evening at 5pm is the open clinic time at the Dental Clinic in the uni grounds ( map on website), you can register then and be seen that night.

Check out their website http://www.dentistry.kku.ac.th/EngDent/ cost to me is higher than a thai national but not as much as private dental clinics. Thai nationals if referred by their local hospitals get free treatment otherwise there is a cost for them but not as much as farangs.

So for any farangs out there in the Isan area with dental issues you can check out the services of KKU. Can't help with the prescription glasses though.

Hope this helps for anyone in need of Dental

The dental Dept at KK Uni' has an excellent reputation....

....Maybe I was unlucky but originally went there with my wife for both of us to "sign up" and "get sorted" (!).

After waiting 70 mins + we both gave up - well me really truth be told..

..Now ,for similar monies I can make an appointment, turn up and be looked at ,which being an impatient farang I prefer. .

....Open wide

There are two reasonable dental clinics near Fairy Plaza. If you come out on the car park side turn right, and right again when you come to a cross cutting street. The clinics are on the far side of the road, one about a block beyond the other. However, on my recent visit to both clinics I was told that I should take my 8 year old son to a specialist paediatric dentist for root canal treatment. The practice they pointed me to about half a mile away also seemed very good (043-224-421). Root canal treatment and a steel crown for a child was 2350 baht. I'm sure the hospital will also be good, but these seem to be possible alternatives.
