teflonjon
Hi, I'm in Pattaya and I need a recommendation for and Endocrinologist. Pattaya International or Pattaya Memorial Hospitals if possible, but I have seen some of the doctors mentioned from Bumungrad, and am willing to travel there as well. Does this work like it does in the US where you have to get a referral from a GP before the specialist will see you? Do I need to bring my own labwork or do they like to do their own? lopburi3
There is no need for referral here. Very few doctors are not specialists here. You ask or front desk/nurse would suggest on basis of your stated needs without a doctor having to be involved. Suspect most will want to do confirming labwork but believe they would welcome what you have.
teflonjon
Thanks...so I can just make an appointment directly with the Endocrinologist. So, does anybody have recommendations for the Pattaya area, or Bumungrad?

So, does anybody have recommendations for the Pattaya area, or Bumungrad? You might want to look at the CV of Dr. Rosanee Valyasevi who works at Bumrungrad and see if her experience fits your needs - whilst I have seen Dr Rosanee previously I now prefer to use endocrinology specialists at NUH in Singapore where the costs are similar. Sheryl
The best range of endocrinologists is at Bumrungrad. Most of them have sub-specialties/special areas of interest. Dr. Rossanee as mentioned above is tops for thyroid. If it is for something other than thyroid, please advice what and I'll suggest someone accordingly. You can make a direct online appointment, no need for any referral. Bring any and all medical records, prior test results with you to minimize need for repeat labs. teflonjon
HI Sheryl, yes, it is for thyroid as well as some other hormone abnormalities. I have labworks from a few months ago, but don't know if they will want to do new ones or not? How much are the lab tests there, as my last set was over 6,000THB. chiang mai
If it helps any, the lab bill for my most recent thyroid related blood tests at Bumrungrad was THB 9,000, that was for a bi annual check of thyroid tumors.

ericg1953
I have seen Dr. Rosanee a few times as I also have a controlled thyroid condition and she is very good. I find her to be thorough and knowledgeable and her english is perfect. I also live in Pattaya and now with the bus from Jomtien to the airport and then the train to the BTS Sukhumvit its a breeze and 200 baht each way..so many times I go and come back in the same day and its painless
