Chong Jom To 0’Smach Visa Run – Looking For 2011 Info.

Normally do the Nong-Khai – Vientienne border run but considering Chong Jom – 0’Smach this time.

My visa is multiple entry Non(0) (Thai Wife).

Read through many posting, but most that contain detailed info seem a little old (2008 and past).

Can anyone who has crossed recently confirm whether some of this old info still applies or is now out of date

1. Is it still $20 or 1000 baht ?

2. Will I / might I be asked to pay 300 baht (or whatever amount) if I will be returning into Thailand same day ?

3. Are there any requirements to show vaccination certificates? Or are there still any scams asking to show certificates? If yes to either of these what is the probable fine for not having one.

4. Will I need my marriage certificate or a copy of it? (Not required in Vientienne crossing)

Also is it possible to get your visa for Cambodia, walk over (without bothering with taxis/motos,etc) to the casino’s, waste a few baht in the slot machines and generally mooch around the casino for 30 mins or so, then return back through border to Thailand. What I hope to do.

Any other up to date relevant info would be much appreciated and details of any current scams, common hassles, things to be wary of.

Can confirm they ask 1100 for the visa. Cross the road and the entry and exit stamps can be had for 100 bht. I always include 100 bht when I hand over my passport and they never ask for more.

You may be followed by a tout asking to help you out but the whole process is pretty painless and unless you get stuck behind a busload of Thais headed for the casinos you should get in and out in 15 minutes.

Don't forget a passport sized pic for your Cambo visa.

No other documents other than passport are required.
