A well-known Sydney bodybuilder was showing symptoms of an undiagnosed heart condition only a few months before he died of a heart attack in Thailand.

Eastwood man Aziz "Zyzz" Sergeyevich Shavershian died in hospital four days ago after he was found unconscious in a sauna in Bangkok. (Read more: Bodybuilder dies in Thailand).

A post mortem confirmed a heart condition caused Mr Shavershian — a personal trainer, aspiring model and part-time stripper — to go into cardiac arrest on August 5, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Mr Shavershian's mother, who works in cardiology, said he started to show symptoms of heart problems a few months ago but she had no idea that he had a heart condition.

"He was short of breath, sometimes he would have high blood pressure, but it only started to show over the last few months," said Maiane Iboian.

Mr Shavershian's father said his son, who had more than 60,000 followers on Facebook, had released a book and clothing range and developed a protein supplement, had inspired thousands of people around the world.

"He touched the hearts of so many people." Sergei Shavershian.

Mr Shavershain had been about to graduate from a degree in business at the University of Western Sydney and was the former dux of Marist College in Eastwood.
