Even though I haven't got to know his posts as well as other members I like the guy and think his posts are often misunderstood

He is the People's Champ.

In the final analysis, this is only an internet forum of which he is a customer. On the internet there are hundreds of thousands of forums. One ought not to identify ones raison d'etre by virtue of being a 'Platinum Member' or some other designation.

If one does see forums as a metaphor for life itself, link one's self-esteem to it, or get burned out by constant argy-bargy, then that can be mentally debilitating.

The TGS has really annoyed me at times in the past with his self absorbed exclusions of others, but I have come to realise the fascination he has for people who are incapable of delving into themselves and expressing it to his extent. I include myself as one unable to give all.

His posts stand out.

Well said Jock, i have to agree, merton should look in the mirror and consider his own posts before commenting on others. I enjoy scampys rambling posts they brighten up my day, i was thinking about starting a thread on who likes merton, but i dont think he could handle the humiliation of how much he is disliked on here.

I like Scampy's style. True sometimes he does bang on but he's not a professional writer (although some of his stuff is of that standard IMHO) and even the best writers are hit and miss at times. Some of his posts have been brave in the extreme through their honesty and they have to be taken as Scampy's own opinions and perspectives.

He comes across as a very astute and intelligent bloke. I for one look forward to making his aquaintance one day.

Personally I find any post which askes if a poster is popular is unfair.

Scamp's alright. He's a nice guy just trying to figure out his way through life; like the rest of us, but a bit more open about it.

Scampy is a free spirit! He's quirky and a pain in the arse at times, but I have to admit I like him. He grows on you each and every post - he's done what most of us don't dare to do point out his own mistakes on a regular basis. I may mock him at time as most of us do, but I really respect the lad if the truth be known. Keep at it Scampy warts and all!!!
