Need To Check For Mold Spores And Test The Water In My Ubon House

Greetings,

Does anyone know if a service (s) exists in Issan that provides mold spore and water quality testing?

The house is in Ubon city.

The kid in Ubon who runs the home delivery bottled water business doesn't have water test kits (scary). The water authority wont provide a for profit (or free) service to verify the saftey of the water they are streaming into my house.

I'll fly a tech in from BKK or anywhere in Thailand if y'all know of a company that provides the mold spore detecting product.

Thanks in advance

In America this may take 2 phone calls. Probably 1.

As you may have noticed, this is not America. :)

Some haven't figured this out yet - nor ever will.

Nonetheless, a mold spore here or there is nothing to be overtly concerned with.

Any test can only test the drops of water tested. Why not just install a proper filtration and UV system and be totally sure all the time.

Thanks for the OP related reply. I'm current on what I need to make all the water clean but I want to figure out if there is any airborne pathogens floating around B4 I waste any more money on this thai built money pit. Can't even find any company that knows how to locate the leak (s) in the pipes.

This third world sewer is a decent enough place to park the toddlers while I finish up over here but I'd prefer not inflicting life long lung problems or eternal mai ben rai-isms on the youngins; in the mean time.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can recommend a professional who can provide any of the services I need to purchase (can fly them in from BKK).

We do water testing, test cost depend on what you want ie heavy metals, hardness, bacteria, e coli ect.

For more complicated water tests we send the sample to a certified testing lab in Bangkok. PM me for the address to send your sample to.

You live in a counrry where there are a lot of pathogens, not many more than where you are from, just some different ones, "you will adapt".

If I were you I would install a UF filter system on your incoming water, it filters out 99.99% of all mold, bacteria and viruses.

UV is always problimatic it looses its "killing power" in less than a year and must have the Quartz glass housing maintained on a regular basis.

I suggest a UF system, inexpensive and automatic for an additional cost.

How do you know you have a leak in your house, do a static pressuer test!

Good luck on what ever you choose.

:o

Thank goodness your not my Father!

Greetings Andrew,

While I'm happy for your kids being able to experience the modern world with all it's advantages and being in schools where they are encouraged to compete, I really wish you'd come back for a spell and re-teach that new guy on how to make a pizza.

I have 2 - 3 more years of work where I'm at (outside of Thailand), so during my abscence Muang Ubon is as good a place as any to park the kids till I finish up here.

Then it's off to the land of pediatric specialists, PHD sportin teachers, school kids whose both parents have above average IQ's and well below average mai ben rai-isms, vegetable options beyond the poisonous chinese variety, etc, etc, and most importantly; NO bowing to any mere mortal.

Our kin, wether they settled in my land or yours, didn't do what they did to have us raising our kids to bow to anyone.

Not sure whether you're joking or not, but if not you are one piece of work.

Greetings KDC!

That is actually not why we came back to Australia. It was to have a baby and sort out citizenship for my wife. Whilst here we could take advantage of what you mentioned but actually I have chosen to live in one of the most isolated parts of Australia and while there is a large school nearby I still home school my kids just like I did in Thailand. This will allow us to travel as a family anytime we want to and in a few years time when all the paperwork is finished for my wife I hope we can return to what you call a third world sewer.

Seeing as the 'new guy' doesn't cook the pizzas and that all the original staff are still in place I am not sure why the Pizzas would be any different. I am not saying they are not but I am confused as to why they might be. I was in Peppers a few times last week and can confirm however that their coffee and pies are just as good and that their croissants are now out of the world.
