The Road From Chiang Mai To Mae Sai

Featured Replies

Tomorrow (23 aug) I have planned a roadtrip by car from CM to Mae Sai.

One person told me that it is impossible at the moment due to flooding.

I doubt it but I hope anyone out there can give me some more info about the actual situation.

I came from Mae Sai to Chiang Mai on Saturday and the road was not flooded. There was some low level flooding in a few places beside the road.

Anyone know recent news on flooding at the border. I read somewhere that Mae Sai and the market in Burma are both flooded. I need to do a Visa run this weekend and am wondering what to do if it is flooded.

I just came back from Mae Sai, and I didn't see any flooding- but be careful when it is raining :)

As I mensioned, I drove 23th to Mai Sai on the 118 and back to CM via Mae Sa Long and no problems at all.

Nice trip, nice weather.

As long as there isn't too much rain the coming days, I would say that you could have a nice trip.
