Hey Guys hoping somebody can help, Here's the predicament I have.

My current tourist visa is currently coming to an end but I would still like to stay (like most people do) and travel around Thailand over the coming 3-4 Months. I have been told I can can a double entry tourist visa which entitles me to a 60 day visa (I am British) and then another 60 days on re-entry after leaving. I have been told this can be done at the immigration in Vientiane Laos just after crossing the boarder however I have a slight predicament.

I only have 1 full page left in my Passport, and upon entering Laos would have to be given a Laos visa on arrival which would subsequently take up that only full page i have left. (The one i wanted to use to solicit my Thai double entry visa)

So my question is can this Double entry visa be issued anywhere else Like Singapore, KL or Hong Kong?..Reason being when i enter those countries I only get a small stamp in my passport which i have plenty of room for

Hope this makes sense!..Just wasn't sure if Laos was the only place you could get this double entry visa

Thanks to all who respond in advance!

The only other place they are frequently issued locally is Cambodia (and same size visa there unless you obtain e-visa in advance). You really should be getting a new passport. You are aware that a tourist visa entry can be extended 30 days for 1,900 baht at any immigration office? But that will be a small stamp.

Thanks Lopburi3,

I actually didnt know i could get my current 30 day tourist visa extended for another 30 days at an Immigration office for 1,900 BHT is that true? and also I am currently in Bangkok any idea of where the office is that i can go to get it issued and how long it will take?

Thanks again for the quick response!

Are you sure you actually have a Tourist Visa and not a 30-day entry stamp...I ask because if you did, you would have a 60-day entry/stay period and not the "30 day tourist visa" you reference.

Sorry yes its currently a 30 day entry stamp on arrival....does this mean I can still get it extended at an immigration office in Bangkok?

That is a visa exempt entry and can only be extended by 7 days maximum and might require you show proof of leaving Thailand within 7 days.

Yes...but only for a week or so and for the same B 1900 (someone will chime in with the exact figure). If you had an actual Tourist Visa, then that would extendable for 30 days.

toffo9, didn't they put a full version entry visa sticker taking up 1 whole page in your passport when you entered Cambodia though?

Yes...if you leave Thailand for any country that requires a visa for entry, like Cambo, you will blow 2 pages of your passport. Malaysia doesn't require a visa so maybe Penang or KUL would git the bill.

You can get triple entry in Xiamen. 2-3 day wait though. Also you need at least 3 empty pages (2 full pages) as the re-entry to Thailand takes a full page as well. Better to go to your local consulate or embassy and get some pages added.

From -Lopburi- to -ruddy2000-

-Lopburi- answered you already a different possibility, Entry Cambodia with an E-visa, which you can obtain in the Internet, Cambodian Goverment Immigration Website.

NO Sticker in your Passport!

I used that possibility myself.

If the last full free page in your Passport is the last page, also a problem, the Agent said to me, Not possible, as they want to have possibility to place the entry stamp behind the Visasticker.

I got that argument in Sihanoukville from the Visa agency, Phnom Penh Thai Embassy.

Anyway, you can go to your local Embassy and apply for a temporary Passport for a fee,

with this one, you can travel the next couple of month.

Or, do, same the Austrian Embassy made once for me.

Free of charge, they wrote me a paper,

that it is no problem for the Austrian Embassy and therefore fully legal to use the first 3 pages in my Passport, after the name, foto and details, which are normaly, reserved for other things

and writings, to use for Visastickers and/or entry-exit stamps.

This paper from Embassy and the Passport I showed and used that 3 pages also.

If the OP were to get the 7 day extension on his visa exempt entry from BKK Immigration on Chaeng Wattana Road, that hopefully would give him enough time to get a new passport from the British consulate here...

http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/location1.html

If he needed more time, he could also book a quick flight out and back on the same day, or next morning, via Air Asia to one of the nearby no-visa countries for Brits...and then gain a new 30 day exempt stamp (very small single stamp) on his return to the BKK airport.... which certainly should give enough time for fixing the passport in BKK...

Of course, if he was flying out, it would equally make sense to stay a bit longer and pick up an actual new 60 day tourist visa while in a neighboring country -- assuming it was one that only used the part page stamp as opposed to the entire page.

I have a friend coming to Thailand on a 30-day entry and she can fly to Vientiane or Phnom Penh for a 60-day visa. Friends tell me getting a visa in Vientiane is easy. Is it easy in Phnom Penh?

just got double from phnom penh today
