Prof Lae Dilokwittayarat from the Faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University, said the premiere's declaration on labour policy wasn't the same as what the party had promised to people during the voter wooing campaign because all people understood that the minimum wage and bachelordegree holders' salary hike was unconditional.

PTP talk doublespeak to garner votes and the gullible electors fell for it.

Agree, well said.

Personally, I saw thousands of these signs. I'm not sure how many millions of people may have seen them also.

Yeah of course; can see the red propagandists blaming it all on the invisible hand and amata ; try to direct some hate and talk up continued revolution to achieve the extra money's they fiend for; keep em busy with a fictitious enemy while robbing up the nations coffers. Maybe, just maybe they might cotton on this time around and turn on their masters; but the shiniwatras seem pretty good at judging just enough scraps to throw to keep the dogs from biting

Hmm yes "Throw a few scraps to stop the dogs from biting" Yeah I like the look of that one , or one could also say throw a sprat and catch a mackerel or even throw a sprat and catch a 500lb blue fin tuna ,which appears to be more in line I would say!!. Edited by Colin Yai

the point is that the average thai that voted didn't understand the details because they where not disclosed

so most of the ordinary people that thought they where going to get a pay hike won't - they where fooled at any cost for another agenda ..........................Thaksins return

I suspect the goverment who made the policy doesnt even know the details themselves..:whistling:

It was part of a set of populist promises to get the public to vote for them along with promising comsumer electronic's, there is/was not intention to actually bring these to fruition, so why would they need to work on the details.... .....

it was a scheme scam pulled out of some polititians ar*e....The voting public have been played and this scheme scam was actually better than going around individual villages handing out THB 500 notes for each vote, with less leg work just promise the whole country THB 300.....

No such thing as a free lunch!!! Also, there are always strings attached!!! Now, are they made cause they didn't get what was promised, or that someone will watch their productivity and efficiency, and their salary isn't guaranteed now, so they have a performance evaluation to get a raise?

Hhhhmmm, seems to me like it is an ok thing. Why pay someone more for the same work? Make them work better with a positive reward, and this is it, a guaranteed raise for better performance, not just a handout for the same ol' thing....

You obviously are naive ... or cold hearted. These low-tier workers are not getting far wages already. Why should they have to work even harder to get what they should have already???

What is a fair wage?

Edited to add: Since PT now says the salary increase might have to come from knowledge/performance increase...I suppose you are referring to PT as being heartless too.

It's called economics. Thai wages may be low but they are light years ahead of neighbouring countries against which Thailand is competing.
