Payments To Wife After Marriage

Featured Replies

My girlfriend is eager to get married. Fair enough I stay at her place when there and she has a good job where she is expected a certain standard of behaviour. However she wants me to deposit monthly 20,000 to 30,000 bah in her bank accountt. She is well payed to Thai standards. She agrees. She does not need the money to cover living expenses. But says it is a sort of valueing the relationship. Not as a payment but as a giving. She says," So that I would keep funding for the two of us. In the future". We always have the best time ever when together. In my opinion she is very genuine. She gives money monthly to her beloved mother. She never ever has asked me for a single baht for the 10 months that I know her. Communication is very dificult written as well as spoken. I am totally shocked of her requirement and thought of her as a gold digger.

I am not sure of customs and traditions in Thailand with respect to this. Could anybody please advise me!

Yeah, she needs to keep it to hand, for when the buffalo gets sick. :D
