andrewfenn
I'm currently on a Non-B visa however wish to request an extension of stay at immigration for purposes of being married (Non-O). My question is what do I write on the TM7 form? My understanding is that the whole Non-O extension of stay gives you 1 year so do I put down 365 days? I feel like i'm missing some crucial step here. I'm English and 26 years old, married to Thai wife. Edited August 25, 2011 by andrewfenn
beano2274
I wrote down 365 days, and then gave them the papers for the Marriage extension, they then stamped my extension "Thai Wife". You can wait and do it when your present extension is about to end. Edited August 25, 2011 by beano2274
beechguy
You aren't changing your visa, "B' to "O", you are applying to have your permission to stay extended based on your marriage. Put 365 days or 1 year.
Maestro
I would write "one year" because: 1. The rules about this particular extension says "permission shall be granted for no more than one year" 2. Some years have more than 365 days. If immigration gave you a 365-day extension now you would lose one day because next February has 29 days. Of course, they would no doubt give you a full year even if you wrote 365 days.
