Korat Supplemental Form For Retirement Extension

Featured Replies

The Korat Immigration office requires the submission of a Thai language supplemental form for extension of stay based on retirement. It's essentially a statement of your income, bank accounts, etc.

However, the income section only provides for two kids of income:

- A pension from a national government

- Public assistance

It completely ignores other forms of income that a retiree might have such as rental income, a state, local or private pension, investment income, income from an IRA or a 401K plan, etc.

Anyone out there had experience submitting this form but showing income other than the two types specified on the form?

I showed Korat Immigration a letter from my embassy stating that I had an income of more than 65,000 Baht per month coming into an account, and showed them one months bank statement showing the money coming in, there was no questions as to where the money came from, although I think it is suppose to be understood that it is pension income. This was December 2010. I was on a Non B with work permit and just before that expired I stopped working and changed the visa to retirement Non O.

There was nothing in the Thai language that I had to supply, unless it was like a visa change form which they filled out and I signed.

They have an attitude problem, like no 90 day reporting by mail......Yet they are 25 kilometres outside of Korat.

Once again, Korat immigration showing themselves to be knobs. They have to be the most fcuked up immigration office in Thailand. Anyone that praises them is delusional.

I agree, they have a bad attitude problem and no common sense at all. I had done 2 90 day reports by mail with no problem this year and was surprised to find out Korat Imm has stopped reporting by mail. I was there yesterday and when I asked why no 90 reporting by mail the lady said "Bangkok boss changed the rules". When I told her of all the Imm offices that accept 90 day reporting by mail she had no answer.

BTW, I live on the OTHER side of Korat and to make matters worse there is no good way to get there except by private transportation.

It is easy to get a bus from Korat and get off on the main road but then you are on foot.

The income letter is a form provided by your particular embassy and not a Thai document. The US is all in English and pretty straight forward. Have no idea what the one you describe is like but perhaps if your embassy's native language is not English they are required to provide the form in Thai.

Thanks 'livram', I thought I was the only person that thought them rubbish. Here is the facts regarding 90 day reporting.

Those with an extended visa in their passport, need to report to Thai Immigration every 90 days, This is normally done in person, however Thai Immigration allows you to do your 90 day reporting via registered mail. The procedures to complete your 90 day reporting via registered mail is done as follows:

Enclose the following:

- 1 photocopy of the photo page of your passport.

- 1 photocopy of the page containing your most recent entry visa.

- The original of your most recent 90-day registration receipt.

- The original of your new 90-day; registration receipt. Don't forget to sign it!

- A stamped, self-addressed envelope to receive your new receipt.

: Please allows at least 1 week for delivery of registered mail.

Your new form will be stamped as of the expiration date of your old form.

OP is not writing about Embassy letter but about a supplemental form that you must fill out at Immigration office now (Korat only) asking about the source of your pension income. It is also mentioned in this thread about Khon Kaen

They refused to give me their mailing address when I was in their offices last year. Nice polite people. It must be a demotion to work in the Korat office as opposed to a promotion.

From my observations, over the years, it seems that they treat you in a befitting manner if they know your going to slide them an envelope over the table, or foot slide a carrier bag of goodies to their side of desk. They get to know the ones that do, and don't, and treat them accordingly. It's been said that Korat immigration will do the 90 day report by post if 200 Baht accompanies the TM47.

I found them reasonable people to deal with until they moved to Chok Chai. I think a change in command occurred at the same time ? If I remember correctly, that is also when they also started to refuse 90 day report by post.

Agree totally about the envelope across the table and the goodies as I watched this numerous times myself, and the funny thing it is not the people who do not have their paperwork in order, more than not the paperwork is correct and the people giving the money continues something that should not be to start with, to the point where it is expected, from almost everyone. When you give beggers money they continue to beg.
